ATLANTA – October 31, 2025 – Georgia Oak Partners, an Atlanta-based investment firm, announced today that it has completed a majority equity investment in Atlanta Gear Works, a leading provider of essential gearbox repair and maintenance services to customers across North America.
Founded in 1988 by Jack Conway, Sr., Atlanta Gear Works specializes in the repair, redesign, and manufacture of industrial gearboxes and power transmission equipment for a wide range of industries including pulp and paper, steel, plastics, chemicals, cement, tire and rubber, and other heavy industrial sectors. The company is recognized for its deep technical expertise, responsive customer service, and 24/7 emergency repair capabilities.
Operating from its 44,000-square-foot facility in Dawsonville, Georgia, Atlanta Gear Works has earned a reputation as a trusted partner to leading manufacturers and industrial operators. Its combination of precision engineering, rapid turnaround times, and a commitment to quality has driven consistent growth and customer loyalty for more than three decades.
“After 37 years of building Atlanta Gear Works from the ground up, I wanted to find a partner who shared our values and cared as much about our people and customers as I do,” said Jack Conway, Sr., Founder of Atlanta Gear Works. “From our first meeting, it was clear that Georgia Oak was the right fit. They’re local, they understand what makes our business special, and they’re invested in helping us grow while preserving our legacy.”
“Atlanta Gear Works has built an exceptional reputation in the industrial services sector,” said Michael Lonergan, Founder and Managing Partner of Georgia Oak. “Jack and his team have combined engineering excellence with an unwavering commitment to service - qualities that perfectly align with our approach at Georgia Oak. We’re excited to help accelerate their next phase of growth and expand their impact across the Southeast and beyond.”
This partnership expands Georgia Oak’s growing portfolio of industrial and manufacturing businesses, which includes Emerald Transportation Solutions and Sailfish Boats, among others.
