Georgia Oak Welcomes Jon Dangar as Managing Director

Georgia Oak is proud to welcome Jon Dangar as Managing Director. Jon brings more than 25 years of experience spanning M&A, corporate finance, investing, and portfolio management, and most recently served as Director at Stonehenge Capital.

As Managing Director, Jon will work across the full lifecycle of Georgia Oak’s partnerships, from building relationships with founders and evaluating new opportunities to serving as a strategic resource for the firm’s nine portfolio companies.

“I’m looking forward to putting my experience to work at Georgia Oak,” Jon said. “Whether it’s helping a management team solve an operational challenge, evaluate an acquisition, or identify the next avenue for growth, I can bring a seasoned perspective, ask the tough questions, and help them make the right call.”

Throughout his career, Jon has been involved in more than $3 billion in transactions, working alongside business owners at critical points in their companies’ growth.

“I’ve been fortunate to work alongside a wide range of business owners, and that’s taught me to quickly see where a business is today, where the opportunities are, and what pitfalls may lie ahead,” said Jon. “Getting clear on those three things helps founders and management teams understand their business and what comes next.”

That combination of experience and relationship-building is also what drew Jon to Georgia Oak.

“Georgia Oak’s values are perfectly aligned with the way I approach business,” Jon said. “I believe in providing value to founders while respecting the legacies they’ve built. Finding a way for everyone involved to win is a hallmark of Georgia Oak and a big part of why I wanted to join.”

Georgia Oak Managing Partner Mike Lonergan sees Jon making an impact across the company.

“Jon gives us more firepower on both sides of our business,” Mike said. “He knows how to build trusted relationships with founders, but also brings decades of experience that our portfolio companies can tap into as they navigate growth, acquisitions, and other critical decisions along the way.”

Outside of work, Jon spends time with his wife, Shannon, and their four adult children, along with, in his words, “a couple of knucklehead dogs.” He enjoys cooking, Georgia Tech football games, and trying to improve his golf game.
